Review of Research Proposals

Research Committee:
The Research Committee is responsible for selecting topics/projects, approving protocols, and overseeing the conduct of OTIS collaborative research. The Research Committee sets policy for OTIS Collaborative Research publications, and approves requests by outside investigators to utilize OTIS data. The Research Committee also oversees the selection and certification of Research Coordinators at each OTIS site. The Research Committee organizes and conducts two annual meetings for the Research Committee and Research Coordinators, one during the annual scientific meeting in June, and one freestanding meeting in January.

Preliminary Review of Research Proposals to the OTIS Collaborative Research Group;

  • II. The format and content should be as follows:
    • A. Draft Title
    • B. Product or topic
    • C. General description of research design and general statement of specific aims
    • D. Proposed or potential funding source(s)
    • E. If known, potential budget $ amount
    • F. If known, proposed PI(s) and/or study coordinating center
    • G. Proposed time frame for initiation of project
  • III. Proposals will distributed by the Research Committee Chair to the committee members for review and a vote in favor or against the further consideration of a full proposal. The results of this vote with comments will be communicated by the Research Chair to the committee member (or other) within two weeks of submission of the proposal.
