| We
Are Here to Answer Your Questions |
|
If
you are pregnant and have arthritis, you may wish to get
the most up-to-date information about what is known about
the various medications you are taking during pregnancy.
We can help. The
Organization of Teratology Information Specialists* (OTIS)
provides women and their health-care providers with up-to-date
information about medications taken during pregnancy.
When you phone OTIS, an information specialist will review
all of the medications that you are taking or may be considering
for use in pregnancy and provide you with the most current
information available on the safety of these medications
in pregnancy. All information is confidential and free
of charge. Call us toll-free
(877) 311-8972. |

You
may be eligible for the OTIS Autoimmune Diseases in Pregnancy
Project |
 |
Rheumatoid
arthritis affects 3 times as many women as men, many of
whom are in their reproductive years. Most of the medications
used to treat rheumatoid arthritis have not been well
studied for use in pregnancy.
About
the research study...
The OTIS
Autoimmune Diseases in Pregnancy Project
is a North American effort to evaluate safety to the embryo
or fetus with the use of rheumatoid arthritis medications
in pregnancy. |
OTIS is conducting this research study in an effort to gain additional
information regarding rheumatoid arthritis, its treatment
during pregnancy, and the potential effects of the treatment
on the developing embryo or fetus.
If you have rheumatoid arthritis and are pregnant you may
qualify for this research study. Eligible participants receive follow-up
phone calls during pregnancy, and your child will receive
a pediatric exam, performed by one of our participating
physicians at no cost
to you. |
